Welcome to our first official post documenting our move and new life in American Samoa!
American Samoa is a territory of the United States, located in the South Pacific. Seven small islands make up this nation, and we live on the main island, Tutuila. Just west of us is the independent country of Samoa.
Our decision to move was both thought out, and spontaneous. We were longing for a life change, and planning a similar move two years in the future. We set savings goals and timeline deadlines, and what felt like a dozen back up plans to ensure an adventure was likely to happen. Then came the job listing at the right possible moment in life, and the plans unfolded. Not much can top our excitement for this life shift, and we’ll call this spot home for the next two years. Don’t sit around waiting for life to happen. Dream big, make plans, and you’ll be rewarded!

Soon after arriving, a tiny, mangy island puppy found his way into our lives. Thankfully he’s no longer mangy (or tiny!) and his name is Todd.

Six weeks later, an island cat showed up at our back door and never left. His name is Bill.

So now we’re a family of 4 plus cat and dog, living and working in American Samoa, and wanting to travel this region of the world as much as we are able.
